That was a sweet parable; but I am reminded of the wisdom of the fictional character John MacLaine, (from A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT). A more pithy story would be: "Once the world was in peace with sufficient resources for all. Then Satan ruined it."

It's a beautiful story. And an excellent movie.
