Preface: A Heart in Turmoil As I sit down to pen this article, my emotions are a whirlwind of sorrow, confusion, and even anger. The news from Israel has left me grappling with difficult-to-articulate feelings. I find myself questioning how a world so advanced in technology and knowledge can still be so mired in conflict and suffering. The images of devastated families, the reports of lives lost—it's almost too much to bear.

Twice in the book of Genesis, Abraham denies that Sarah is his wife (in order to save himself). An orthodox Jewish friend of mine once said there are four kinds of Jews. Smart ones. Stupid Ones. Ambitious Ones. Lazy Ones. We all have essentially the same human emotions and these (as Peter proved when Jesus was crucified) are often overruled by fear. All things will pass.
